Align more planets! Or don't. Just enjoy a nice little pixelated simulation of a star system.

Controls

A gamepad is recommended for best experience.

You can remap keys to your liking in the Escape menu.

<Z> or <Button 1> - Toggle acceleration of green planet.

<X> or <Button 2> - Toggle acceleration of red planet.

<A> or <Button 3> - Toggle acceleration of blue planet.

<S> or <Button 4> - Toggle acceleration of yellow planet.

<Down> or <Left> - Switch to 3 planets.

<Up> or <Right> - Switch to 4 planets.

<M> - Mute music.

Changes

This extended version adds a whole new planet! But you can still switch back to 3 planets if it's giving you too much trouble.

The game mechanics is now reversed, instead of slowing planets down you accelerate them!

Origin

Created for Sim Jam with the theme "A Matter of Degree".

This is an extended version of the game Align Q that was originally created for TweetTweetJam 4 with less than 560 characters of code. This version was made without the character limitation but I still tried to keep it as minimal as possible.

Both versions were created in the time frame of the Sim Jam, so no rules were violated.

Simply fun! It was nice to line 4 planets up. When I got close to lining them up I think of the meme,

 XD

I had a hard time playing without a controller though. It would be nice if the keys to speed up the planets were all next to each other in the same row on the keyboard. It was still quite fun to play and definitely would be a lot nicer with some ambient music. Good job man! Keep up the good work!

Perfect meme for the game. :-D

You can remap keys in the ESC menu, I probably should mention that in the Controls section.

And I’m planning to compose a simple track for the game. It should be fun, since I have never composed music before. :-)

Thanks for playing, I’m glad you liked it!

Oh cool! What are you planning to use to compose music? I personally use Bosca Ceoil but I'm already starting to feel it's limitations :P    It's a really good for game jams though because it's easy to make small melodies with it.

Since this is a TIC-80 game I have to use its internal music editor. But outside of TIC-80 I would like to try Bosca Ceoil as well. And maybe LMMS for something more complex.
